Waste to Energy W2E | Generating Energy From Waste

Waste to Energy or W2E is the process of transferring embodied energy stored within organic waste to thermal energy.
Traditionally this has been through the process of incineration. It's important to note that if left to decompose in landfill, biological wastes emit methane and other hazardous and toxic greenhouse gases which require monitoring and risk management.

Incineration is the combustion of waste, which requires oxygen for the combustion to take place. Where you have Oxygen, you have flame, and therefore energy is lost via light-energy.

Incineration also creates smoke which is a combination of noxious gasses (including carbon monoxide,
oxides of nitrogen, and carcinogens). Incineration is a dirty form of Waste to Energy with toxic emissions.

Solid and liquid waste is filling our world at a rate most of us cannot comprehend. Municipal and industrial
entities generate millions of tonnes of waste every year with fewer types of waste being accepted as
landfill due to increasing regulations.

Our Waste to Energy Thermal Recovery Unit, or TRU, is a turnkey solution to the waste management problems of businesses and governments.

The Thermal Recovery Unit (TRU) is NOT INCINERATION

In just 1 hour, a TRU can gasify over 1,800kg of organic waste including tyres and plastics, as well as
medical, municipal and green waste, significantly reducing waste streams. This process produces biochar,
useful in soil rejuvenation, and enough syngas to power up to 1,800 homes with an attached thermal
generator.

The TRU is a True Pyrolysis plant for Waste to Energy that uses intense heat in the absence of oxygen.
The process of the TRU is unique. A continuous feed of waste is drawn through a retort chamber which
is heated to temperatures between 600º to >1000º C. The chamber has a series of airlocks preventing
oxygen from entering the chamber. Once the waste has completed its journey it is converted into
carbon char, and gas. The synthetic gas (syn-gas) is drawn into a thermal oxidiser where it is safely
combusted to convert the energy into thermal energy. The emissions are well below EPA standards,
and safe in the community.

The Thermal energy produced by our Waste to energy solution TRU is >5 times the energy used to
commence the pyrolysis state, making the TRU a very efficient waste to energy machine.

The TRU is a turnkey solution to the waste management problems of businesses and governments around
the world. Through pyrolysis, the TRU will gasify in excess of 2600kg of organic waste per hour, reducing the strain on landfill and eliminating the need for other problematic waste disposal practices. The thermal energy output of the TRU may be applied to a gensetto produce energy. A TRU6000 is capable of energy production of 2-5MW (depending upon waste stream).

The carbon char produced may be on-sold for 3rd party applications. The make-up of the carbon char is also reliant upon the feedstock. Tyres and plastics will produce carbon black whereas green waste, and wood waste will produce Biochar. Biochar is a valuable commodity for soil amendment that may be on-sold for use in agriculture. The addition of Biochar to soil improves the quality of the soil, balances pH, and increases absorption. Biochar is also an effective and long lasting way to capture carbon and lock it away in the soil. Carbon credits are available in Australia,(and other countries) for the creation of Biochar.

The Thermal Recovery Unit is U.S. patented (US # 6,758,150) and complies with U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) and Clean Air Act guidelines.
